This is not a knock on software companies. This market has evolved from a software segment to a vision for doing business. The software companies are still software companies. But instead of using a meaningless set of criteria for identifying the right CRM software, results oriented companies are now putting together comprehensive customer focused strategies. These can then be used to determine which software suite can most effectively integrate with their plan. In the past, this process has worked backwards. One more thing I'd like to note is that I work primarily in the middle market where some customer facing parts of a business aren't as fully developed as they are in larger enterprises. As a result, the CRM software vendors only develop segments of their tools to a certain point. Otherwise, the costs they have to pass on become prohibitive to middle market companies. So don't worry about features. Instead, focus on a measureable and achievable plan and you'll find you really don't need all of the code bloat the enterprise applications deliver. The other thing to consider is that the enterprise software vendors are now targeting the middle market, so you may be able to get a front end deal here anyway (but you will pay dearly on the back end if you go this way). The Middle MarketSage Saleslogix - I will disclose right here that I've worked with this product since it's inception in 1997. It is a great business to business (B2B) software platform for the middle market. Read more about Saleslogix CRM Software.... The SMB MarketInfusionSoft - If you are a small business that doesn't want to find the necessary capital for expansion, I have just the solution for you to consider. It's almost unfair that SMB's can find a more complete business solution than their big brothers. Read more about Infusionsoft CRM Software
